Fagus sylvatica purpuria- weeping purple beech

  • Pendulous weeping habit, smallish tree if clipped

    Stunning deep purple foliage in spring, turning purplish green in summer then bronze/gold in autumn

    Produce flowers in summer  and fruits in autumn

    Can grow to a height of 12m  and spread of 8m in 20-50 years, but can be clipped to a suitable height for smaller spaces.

    Grows in any well-drained soil

    Prefers full sun or partial shade
